Abstract
The study investigated the effect of green recruitment practices on environmental performance of selected food and beverages manufacturing firms in Nigeria. The study specifically examined the effect of sustainable candidate sourcing and virtual interviews on environmental performance of selected food and beverages manufacturing firms in Nigeria. The study employed a survey research design. The population of the study included 391 staff of five food and beverages manufacturing firms in Nigeria and a census sampling technique was utilized. Primary data retrieved from the respondents through questionnaire administration was analyzed using mean, standard deviation, correlation and regression with the aid of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS 25 version). Findings of the study indicated sustainable candidate sourcing and virtual interviews have significant effect on environmental performance of selected food and beverages manufacturing firms in Nigeria. The study concluded that green recruitment practices enable food and beverages firms in Nigeria to hire employees that will enable them produce products that have minimal environmental impact. The study recommended amongst others the need for food and beverages manufacturing firms in Nigeria to always hire employees that are knowledgeable with green policies and eco-friendly practices to improve environmental performance.
