Abstract

The study investigated availability, accessibility and utilization of ICT facilities for instructional delivery in Business Education in tertiary institutions in Cross River State, Nigeria. Two specific objectives were formulated and two research questions were posed. Descriptive survey research design was used for this study. The population of the study consisted of 65 business educators, who equally formed the sample. Two instruments were used for data collection; a checklist and a structured questionnaire named “Accessibility and Utilization of ICT facilities Questionnaire”. The questionnaire was validated by three experts. A trial test was carried out on 15 business educators in University of Uyo and the data collected were subjected to Cronbach Alpha reliability method with a co-efficient of .75 to .80. Data was analyzed using frequency and simple percentages to answer the research questions and the findings revealed that; ICT facilities are slightly available in the institutions under study and lecturers have access to ICT facilities very often. It was recommended among others that government should partner with private organizations to provide tertiary institutions with hi-tech information and communication facilities such as electronic and interactive white boards to aid teachers in delivering instructions.
