Abstract

The study examined the relationship between organizational climate and employee job satisfaction in the banking sector of Rivers State, domiciled on Zenith Bank in Port Harcourt. The study was guided by four specific objectives, four corresponding research questions, and four hypotheses formulated to direct the investigation. A quasi- experimental research design was adopted, with a target population of 85 respondents. Using the Taro Yamane formula, a sample size of 70 participants was determined for the study. In addition to primary data, secondary data were obtained from existing empirical and descriptive literature accessed through online databases, academic journals, and relevant textbooks. The collected data were presented using frequency distribution tables and percentages, while chi-square statistics were employed to analyse the data and test the formulated hypotheses. The findings show that there is a significant relationship between the dimensions and measures of organizational climate and employee job satisfaction. The study concluded that there is a positive relationship between organizational climate and employee job satisfaction in Zenith Bank Plc. Based on the findings of the study, the researcher recommended among others that management should adopt a supportive leadership style by mentoring, recognizing, and guiding employees to enhance their career growth and satisfaction; Organizations should ensure fairness and equity in promotion and compensation systems through transparent, consistent, and impartial policies.
