Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic was originated in Wuhan, China, in 2019 and gradually it crept into other parts of the world. In the year 2020, February precisely, the pandemic entered into Nigeria. This virus took the whole country by surprise and the effects were evident in all sectors of the Nigerian society especially the educational, economic and health sectors. It is on this platform that this paper considers the areas of damage done by the pandemic at the various levels of the Nigerian school system, highlighting some prospects and making suggestions on how to tackle further pandemic or disastrous challenges should there be any, to avoid the challenges the system of education is currently facing.
