Abstract

In today’s institutions of learning, the use of laws have become part and parcel of the daily learning process. The study examine the effects educational law awareness on secondary school teachers’ performance in   Enugu Education zone of Enugu State. The specific objectives of the study were to; determine the influence of educational law knowledge on teacher students’ relationship and enhance classrooms effectiveness in secondary schools in Enugu educational zone. The research design adopted for this study was a survey design. The study was carried out among 179 participants randomly selected from 1871 in 30 government owned secondary schools. Structured questionnaire used were content and face validated by three experts while the reliability was established at 0.95.  Data was presented using mean and percentages. The result of the study shows that that educational law increases teacher-students relationship while few respondents were of the opinion that educational law brings about teachers truancy  (Grand Mean = 1.92) and enhance classroom effectiveness of secondary schools teachers in Enugu Education zone (Grand Mean = 3.33). It was therefore concluded that Education Zone of Enugu state is plagued with multifarious problems notably; students poor performance in SSCE, poor attitude of teachers to work and non application of educational law by schools, as such, the challenges being currently faced by the educational system that requires professional approach by experts in the educational field to improve and sustain the education industry. The study recommended that A remedial mechanism should be developed and built into the school system by the government, teachers, educational planners, policy makers, curriculum planners and parents
