This study used percentage to compare the growth of Islamic bank (Jaiz Bank) and three other conventional commercial banks (First bank, Zenith and Access bank).  The study compared Islamic bank to conventional commercial banks growth in total assets, customer deposits, owners’ equity, and profit after tax, gross earnings and earnings per share between 2016-2020. The study found that Islamic bank has higher growth in assets over the periods covered in the study.  In terms of customer deposit, Islamic bank have the highest growth rate over the periods. In terms of growth in owners’ equity Zenith bank is the highest within the periods. In terms of growth in profitability, first have the highest in growth in profitability while in terms of gross earnings, Islamic bank have the highest growth. The study recommends that Central bank of Nigeria should grant license to more Islamic banking
