Abstract

This study focused on the effect of entrepreneurial self-efficacy on entrepreneurial intentions of SME owners from the perspective of propensity to act. The study employed survey research design. The study used a 336-particpants sample size. Both descriptive and inferential analytical techniques were used to analyze the study's data. Multiple regression analysis is the basic analytical method that was used. Finding showed that self-efficacy has effect on the propensity to act of SME Owners in Edo State. The study concluded that entrepreneurial self-efficacy can stimulate the propensity to act of SME Owners in Edo State. Self-efficacy has an impact on SME owners' willingness to act. Information alertness, planning under uncertainty, financial management capability, marketing ability, managerial competence, innovation capability, risk-taking capability, and critical thinking are all factors that influence SME Owners' willingness to act in Edo State. The study recommended that SMEDAN should prioritize the need for consistent entrepreneurial self-efficacy for SME owners to increase their level of propensity to act in Edo State.
