Acute pancreatitis (AP) is a common and severe gastrointestinal disorder characterized by sudden onset, multiple complications, and high mortality. Severe acute pancreatitis (SAP), a critical form of AP, often leads to hypermetabolism, immune dysfunction, malnutrition, and systemic complications such as septic shock and cardiopulmonary insufficiency, resulting in poor prognosis. Nutritional support is a cornerstone in SAP management, and enteral nutrition (EN) is increasingly recognized as the preferred approach for patients with intact intestinal function due to its ability to promote intestinal mucosal integrity, enhance immune response, and reduce adverse outcomes. Alongside EN, high-quality nursing care is essential to ensure treatment safety, improve therapeutic efficacy, minimize complications, and optimize patient recovery. This review emphasizes the combined role of enteral nutrition and evidence-based nursing interventions in improving outcomes for patients with acute pancreatitis.
