Abstract
The rapid growth of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, Bing, and Buzz has transformed how people access and share information globally. In particular, the internet has emerged as a powerful tool for health promotion, providing public access to a wide range of health interventions and facilitating communication between individuals and health professionals. Evidence suggests that online health information is increasingly sought by adults, influencing health behaviors and attitudes positively. Despite ongoing public health challenges from preventable behaviors such as smoking, alcohol abuse, poor diet, and insufficient physical activity, social media offers new opportunities for intervention that are interactive, engaging, and customizable. By integrating social media into health promotion strategies, specialists can enhance outreach, participation, and the overall effectiveness of health interventions.
