This research work considered maintaining and securing school plant for the administration of public senior secondary schools in Rivers State. Two research questions and two hypotheses guided the study which adopted a descriptive research design. The sample comprised two-hundred and seventy-eight (278) public senior secondary school principals in Rivers State. The instrument was a structured questionnaire titled: “maintaining and securing school plant for the administration of public senior secondary schools Questionnaire (MSSPAPSSSQ)” developed by the researchers. The instrument was validated by experts in the Faculty of Education, University of Port Harcourt and Cronbanch Alpha was used to determine the internal consistency of the instrument, which yielded a reliability index of 0.87. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions. The z-test was used to test the null hypotheses at 0.05 alpha level of significance. The findings revealed among others that adequate and proper maintenance and securing of school plant enhance the administration of public senior secondary schools in Rivers State. Based on the findings of the study, the researchers recommended that school principals need to ensure that the students imbibe the ways to secure school plant and develop good maintenance culture. Also, school plant should be properly maintained and secured for administrators’ improved performance in public senior secondary schools in Rivers State.
