The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is one of the world’s longest-running and most controversial conflicts. At its heart, it is a conflict between two self-determination movements, the Jewish Zionist project and the Palestinian nationalist project. This paper examined United States’ (US) role in the resolution of Israel-Palestine conflict with a specific focus on President Trump’s administration. It investigated if US government reversal of major agreements reached through peace process account for the resurgence of violent confrontations between Israel and Palestine. Thus, the paper recommended that there is need for all mediatory efforts to push for a two-state solution and involve more multilateral actors in the negotiation process.
