DEVELOPMENT OF BIODECIL JDO IMMUNE BOOSTER TEA REMEDY AGAINST INFECTIOUS CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC (COVID 19): A CASE STUDY OF SENSORY ANALYSIS AND ACCEPTABILITY.

Abstract

Corona diseases (Covid-19) is a novel viral disease caused by severe acute respiratory enveloped +ssRNA belonging to the family of Coronaviridae.Most people (about 80%) recover from the disease without needing hospital treatment. Around 1 out of every 5 people who gets COVID-19 becomes seriously ill and develops difficulty breathing. Older people, and those with underlying medical problems like high blood pressure, heart and lung problems, diabetes, or cancer, are at higher risk of developing serious illness. This research study aimed at the development of BIODECILJDOimmunebooster tea against covid-19 infections. After the tea was prepared using locally sourced plants bioresources, proximately analysis, sensory evaluation and phytochemical screening were conducted. The proximate analysis revealed 8.71%, 20.11%, 16.39%, 1.03%, 5.43% and 33.42% of moisture, protein, crude fiber, fats, ash and carbohydrates respectively. Sensory evalution revealed 7.72, 7.98, 7.86, 7.56, 7.80, and 7.96 of appearance, color, taste, aroma, texture and acceptability respectively. Phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of tannins, cardiac glycosides, steroids, terpenoids, saponin and alkaloids.
