The study examined youth and wealth creation through agricultural cooperatives in Ayamelum city of Anambra State. Specifically, the study investigated the effect of agricultural cooperatives on youth’s livelihood in the area. It also explored the strategies adopted by youths to generate wealth through agricultural cooperatives. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. Data were obtained from 10 active cooperatives with membership strength of 100 members in the study area through complete enumeration sampling technique. The data collected were subjected to analysis with both descriptive and inferential statistics, using the frequency distribution and percentage table. The stated hypothesis was tested with Chi-square which is non-parametric test. Evidence from the study revealed that there is a significant effect of agricultural cooperative on the livelihood of the Youth in the study area. There was strong evidence from the study that Youths participation in agricultural cooperatives in the area have led to encouragement to savings, food security, and increase in their standard of living. Based on the findings, the study recommended that Institutional support services for agriculture should be extended to the youths through-extension education, credit provision, to strengthen their performance in agricultural production. Cooperatives in the area should organize workshop to sensitize Youth in the area to join or form Cooperative to enjoy the benefit of collective action.
