Abstract
Manufacturing has historically aided as a first driver of economic development in advanced economies, contributing meaningfully to structural transformation, employment creation, and technological progress. In this paper, we verify the impact of four factors viz. procedures, technical factors. A Chi-square analysis exposed a statistically significant association between manufacturers’ education level and the category of machinery produced (χ² = 9.62, p < 0.05), signifying that higher educational accomplishment was linked with diversification into more technically complex machinery. The study further detected an absence of locally fabricated forestry and horticultural equipment. Findings showed that the principal users of domestically fabricated machinery were food processing enterprises, followed by large-scale farmers, mediumscale farmers, and lastly smallholder farmers. Concerning marketing strategies, social media platforms emerged as the most commonly utilized channel, while dealer-based networks accounted for. The findings also demonstrated a positive and significant relationship between the number of marketing channels adopted and sales performance supported by a Spearman’s rank correlation (ρ = 0.62, p < 0.01). The study also recommends a timely training and capacity building, financial support to fabricators in order to support domestic fabrication of agricultural machinery production.
