The paper examined students’ industrial work experience scheme as gateway for promoting entrepreneurship and national development in Anambra State, Nigeria: Business Education perspective. It adopted descriptive survey research design and the population used was 160(64 male and 96 female) business education lecturers in the two colleges of education in Anambra state. Hence, no sample was used since the population was a manageable size. A 30- item questionnaire structured in a four point rating scale and title (SIWESAGFEAND) was used as instrument for the data collection from the respondents while data was analysed with mean rating. Findings among others showed that SIWES promote entrepreneurship and national development in many ways such as by allowing students to participate in work activities while still in school, by developing human resources through diverse skill training programmes for the youths and by making the students good risk managers. It was also found out that despite the good deeds, many factors like; poor attitude and seriousness of the students to the programme, poor supervisions by ITF personnel and institutional supervisors and financial difficulty on the part of the students due to non-payment of any stipend while on attachment hinder the effectiveness of the programme. Based on this, the researcher concludes that SIWES is still a vital instrument needed to build future entrepreneurs that will revolutionize Anambra state and the Nigerian society at large from being mainly consumers but producers and employers of various types of labour. Thus, it was recommended that though the major role of SIWES is provision of skill training to students and youths, it is still important that the body (ITF) should provide after training benefits to the beneficiaries such as cash and equipment as well monitoring them for at least two years to ensure that the beneficiaries are on their feet. Again, that both institutional and ITF supervisors should always go for regular supervisions in other to help spark off seriousness on the part of the students.
