This paper looks at the degree of digital equity in integration of EdTech and evaluates how legal rights knowledge and institutional moral responsibility has an impact on polytechnic students in Nigeria. Data were gathered using a quantitative and descriptive cross-sectional survey design on 300 students sampled out of federal, state and private polytechnics in Osun State using stratified random sampling. Multiple regression analysis and descriptive statistics were used. The results show that there is a medium level of digital equity in access to EdTech and this means that structural inequalities are not completely met by current digitalizing efforts. Legal rights awareness and ethical responsibility have a significant effect on digital equity, although the effect of ethical responsibility is higher. This paper indicates that there is a requirement in policy frameworks that can incorporate legal literacy and ethical governance in the implementation of EdTech. It draws the conclusion that a sustainable and inclusive digital education of polytechnics in Nigeria needs coordinated institutional and policy responses to technological supply.
2026-05-11T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 British International Journal of Education and Social Sciences https://cirdjournals.com/index.php/bijess/article/view/1563 PHILOSOPHICAL COMPARISON AND CONTRAST BETWEEN HEGELIAN DIALECTICS AND MARX’S DIALECTICAL MATERIALISM AND ITS SOCIOLOGICAL IMPLICATIONS-A CONTENT ANALYSIS 2026-05-23T05:26:11+00:00 Emmanuel C Nlemchukwu contact@cirdjournals.com Kenneth C Igwe contact@cirdjournals.com Kenneth U Adinde contact@cirdjournals.com Francis O Egwu contact@cirdjournals.com Augustine Izuogu contact@cirdjournals.com Chike Onyeacho contact@cirdjournals.com Daniel Onwe contact@cirdjournals.com
Various scholars and indeed followers of Marxist ideology have always misconstrued the concept of dilectics as well as its major precursors. Many attribute its cursory ideas vis-à-vis historical constellations to Karl Marx due to the overreaching approaches adopted by pure Marxism in their conceptual discourse. This study focuses on the one hand, on the historical background of dialectics with the attendant contributions made by the two prominent writers. On the other hand, the areas of convergence in orientation as well as the divergent views of the champions of dialectics will be scholarly discussed. This study is purely predicated on content analysis which will avail us the opportunity to dwell more on literature consideration to drive home our arguments with absolute precision.
2026-05-23T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 British International Journal of Education and Social Sciences https://cirdjournals.com/index.php/bijess/article/view/1554 THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BODY DYSMORPHIC DISORDER WITH ADOLESCENTS PHYSICAL AND BIOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT IN WARRI SOUTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF DELTA STATE. 2026-05-11T13:26:28+00:00 Rita Dore Gbubemi contact@cirdjournals.com Nneka Martins Chidiebere contact@cirdjournals.com
This study investigated on body sysmorphic disorder as a correlate of physical and biological development among adolescents Warri South Local Government Areas Delta State. Three research questions were developed to guide the study. The study adopted the correlational research design with a sample of 106 secondary school students drawn through convenience sampling technique. Two instruments were used for data collection which were the Perceived Body Dysmorphic Disorder Scale (PBDDS) and the Adolescent’s Physical and Biological Development Questionnaire (APBDQ) developed by the researcher. Validity and reliability of the instruments were established. Data analysis was done using Pearson Product Moment Correlation to answer the research questions, while t-test was used to test the corresponding null hypotheses. Result revealed that body dysmorphic disorder has a negative relationship with the physical and biological development of male and female adolescent students. On the basis of these results, it was recommended that effort should be made to ensure the adolescents receive proper awareness on the dangers of BDD so that they can take up appropriate intervention and assistance from relevant authorities.
2026-05-11T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 British International Journal of Education and Social Sciences https://cirdjournals.com/index.php/bijess/article/view/1552 TACIT TO DIGITAL IN POLYTECHNICS: PHILOSOPHICAL PERSPECTIVES ON THE ACQUISITION OF TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE THROUGH EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY 2026-05-11T12:53:59+00:00 Aderibigbe Maroof Sanusi contact@cirdjournals.com
This paper discusses the role of Educational Technology (EdTech) integration in polytechnics in Nigeria and how it influences the acquisition of technical knowledge by means of digital mediation of tacit knowledge obtained by traditional means-hands-on training. The study was based on phenomenological and pragmatic models, whereby a descriptive correlational design was applied on 450 final-year students across three polytechnics in Osun State. The EdTech Experience and Integration Questionnaire (EEIQ) was used to collect data, and the Pearson correlation and multiple regression were used to analyze the data. Findings indicate that the lived experiences of EdTech and technical knowledge acquisition among students are strongly positively correlated (r =.63, p <.05). Technical competency was also explained by EdTech experience and institutional integration (R2 =.53, p <.05). The research concludes by finding that tacit knowledge can be successfully digitalized provided that the emphasis is put on the experiential aspects. Some of the recommendations that have been made are investment in discipline-specific EdTech tools, unremitting lecturer professional development, and integrating EdTech standards into accreditation requirements.
2026-05-11T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 British International Journal of Education and Social Sciences https://cirdjournals.com/index.php/bijess/article/view/1559 INTEGRATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE INTO NIGERIAN POLYTECHNIC CURRICULA: AN EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS OF LEGAL AND ETHICAL AWARENESS 2026-05-15T06:03:48+00:00 Lawrence Omotose Aboderin contact@cirdjournals.com
The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Nigerian Polytechnic education has tremendous transformative potential and critical equity challenges. The aim of this study was to empirically explore the extent of digital equity in relation to student access to AI tools and explore the impact of legal awareness and institutional ethical responsibilities. The data were collected using the Quantitative, Cross-sectional survey design method with a sample size of 300 students from the population of 3500 students in the three categories of federal, state and private polytechnic of Osun State using stratified random sampling technique. Descriptive statistics and Multiple regression were used for the analyses. The results showed a moderate digital equity level (M=3.12 SD=0.86). Legal rights awareness (β=0.39, p< .001) and ethical responsibility (β=0.48, p< .001) significantly predicted digital equity, with ethical responsibility predicting digital equity more strongly (R²=0.61). Overall, the results point to the challenges faced by technical education institutions in Nigeria when it comes to equitable AI implementation, which go beyond mere technological availability and are rooted in legal understandings and ethical frameworks. We argue that adopting sustainable AI practices needs to be embedded in the policy, including the use of equity indicators, legal protection, and institutional ethical commitments, to avoid the exacerbation of current socio-digital inequalities.
2026-05-15T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 British International Journal of Education and Social Sciences https://cirdjournals.com/index.php/bijess/article/view/1553 DEMOGRAPHIC FACTORS RELATED TO YOUTH RESTIVENESS IN WARRI SOUTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF DELTA STATE, NIGERIA. 2026-05-11T13:26:25+00:00 Rita Dore Gbubemi contact@cirdjournals.com Nneka Martins Chidiebere contact@cirdjournals.com
This study was conducted to investigate factors related to youth restiveness in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
