Abstract

The efficiency of office manager is a major concern to organization actors, understanding how relevant their roles are to the smooth running of the organization nerve centre –office, especially in this era of digitalization, there is dare need for acquaintance with Information Technology (Info-Tech) to remain competitively relevant. This paper focused on establishing Info-tech as panacea to office manager’s efficiency. Literature review bothers on connectivity and computing as dimensions of infotech, while timeliness in task completion and innovativeness operationalized office manager’s efficiency. Data was collated using questionnaire from 63 personnel drawn from 17 selected private firms. Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was used statistically to analyze the null hypotheses raised. Result shows positively high correlation between info-tech connectivity, computing with timeliness and innovativeness. This implies that info-tech in the sector under study has made the office manager to be efficient by timely completing his daily or monthly task as well as helped him become more innovative. Therefore, the study recommends that organizations should regularly retrain their information personnel on Info-tech application to remain relevant to the organization and perform optimally.
