Abstract
The security of lives and property is the primary purpose of government anywhere in the world. To this end, governments all over the world have created the security institutions to achieve this purpose. The Police is the institution created fir internal security of lives and properties in Nigeria like any other country in the world. The Police Force in Nigeria have performed abysmally due to the extremities of its officers and men, particularly the department known as Special Anti-Robbery Squad’ (SARS) leading to the popular ‘ENDSARS’ protests by the youths in Nigeria. The aim of this article is to examine the human rights violations in Nigeria through the extremities of the officers and men of the Police.
