Abstract

It is observed in Estate Management researches that researchers rush to make use of parametric test statistics in testing data without ascertaining if those data meet the stringent requirements for using such tests.  Usually this practice produces erroneous results whereas the non-parametric statistics tests with less stringent conditions and simpler computation analyses can be used for powerful results. This work is undertaken to discuss the different types of researches, generally, and tailored particularly to Estate Management profession. Attention is given to types of research data in Estate Management profession (nominal, ordinal and interval), their measurements and the statistical tests that are appropriate for their analyses, tests and interpretations; employing computer SPSS packages. There is a touch of explanation as to how researchers in Estate Management can use SPSS analytical software to process their research data and interpret their result subsequently. This produces sound Estate Management researches with reliable results for economic development of the society.
