Abstract

The establishment of highly efficient and solid Management Information System (MIS) is sine qua non to management of credit in Deposit Money Banks. It is in the light of that the study examined the impact of MIS on credit management in deposit money banks. In achieving this, survey research design was employed that generated the data analyzed on the sampled deposit money banks. The study utilized the simple linear regression technique in analyzing the data collected. Three hypotheses were tested and were found significant with R2 that measures the overall goodness of fit of the entire regression that showed values of  0.310, 0.332 and 0.305 respectively for the hypotheses tested with p<0.05. The study concluded that the MIS put in place by DMBs is adequate and efficient to manage their credit function. It is recommended that the Team-Lead and members of staff of MIS department must be highly motivated and continually trained and retrained to be able to meet the ever evolving technology trend.
