Abstract

The focus of this paper is to review the literature of workforce diversity and offer explanation for why diversity efforts are
not fulfilling their promise in most organisations today and present a fresh paradigm through which organisations can understand and
leverage the diversity that exists in their domain for the organisations benefit. This review paper elucidates the questions of what is
workforce diversity. Why should an organisation concern itself with diversity? What is workforce diversity management? What
perspectives have guided diversity till date? How should organisations see workforce diversity? What are the benefits of workforce
diversity in organisations? What can management do to enhance work force diversity in organisations? What are the disadvantages of
workforce diversity? These questions and many more would be the main purpose of this paper!
