Abstract
Education in Africa and Nigeria in particular has been undergoing transition over the years as societies traverse from one stage of development to another. In the light of this, women recent participation in politics has become a panacea for the absurd politics prevalent in Africa as people interact in the advancement of knowledge. Against this backdrop, the study is primed to interrogate on education and gender politics in Africa. It specifically focuses on the women education, the impact on politics amid some policies and socio-cultural composition that has constrained them, and roles in the current democratic government in Nigeria. As such, attempts to bridge the oscitance gaps of discrimination, unfair treatment of women both in politics and other areas of human existence. The paper concluded among others with the following recommendations: gender equality in political participation, official appointments, administration and other endeavours of life.
