Abstract
The study evaluated the strategic employee planning and Sales Volume of NNPC affiliate of oil and gas retail outlets in Anambra State. The specific objectives of the study were to: examine the relationship between employee unique skills on the level of sales in Oil and Gas Retail Outlets in Anambra State, evaluate the relationship between employee commitment and market share of Oil and Gas Retail Outlets in Anambra State, ascertain the relationship between training and attention of more customers in Oil and Gas Retail Outlets in Anambra State. The study used the survey approach. The primary sources were personal interview and the administration of questionnaire. A population of 437 staff was used. The whole population was used due to significance of the number. 362 staff returned the questionnaire and accurately filled. That gave 83 percent response rate. The validity of the instrument was tested using content analysis and the result was good. The reliability was tested using the Pearson correlation coefficient (r). It gave a reliability co-efficient of 0.81 which was also good. Data was presented and analyzed by mean score (3.0 and above a greed while below 3.0 disagreed) and standard deviation using Sprint Likert Scale. The hypotheses were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient (r) statistics tool. Findings indicated that Employee unique skills and level of sales in Oil and Gas Retail Outlets in Anambra State are significantly related. Z (95, n = 362) = 0.647, p > 0.05; Employee commitment and market share of Oil and Gas Retail Outlets in Anambra State. Z (95, n = 362) = 0.782, p > 0.05; (r=.782,p>.05). Training and attention of more customers in Oil and Gas Retail Outlets in Anambra State are significantly related Z (95, n = 362) = 0.600, p > 0.05; The study concluded that employee commitment to strategy implementation is an important factor of employee satisfaction.The study recommended that Employers/managers should not only focus on results but should also focus on building and maintaining positive behaviours that necessitates the existence of trust between organizational members and employee commitment.
